It’s An Anything Goes World

Overcoming sexual obession is not an easy battle. It begins with identifying it.

Sexual desire is not immoral, decadent, or anything to be ashamed of. It is not wrong to have the desire. But when it cannot be controlled, much harm can and will be done.

Are you a member of the LGBTQ-r s t u v and sometimes y and w, groups? Am I making fun of you? Yes. Do I believe you to be wrong/immoral? Yes. Still, you don’t have to be “gay” to be immoral, do you?

No, no! There are all types of sexual proclivities regarded as immoral.

We are Biblically admonished to relegate sexual relationships to marriage. Sexual desires provide the impetus to engage in the joy and pleasure of making babies.

However, many and often most of us use our sexual powers for other purposes, and we convince ourselves that sex is an expression of love. Do we need to be told what happens when that “expression of love” loses its savor?

When the desire begins to fade, what happens to the “love” that was supposedly there?

Whether you are LGBTQ or otherwise, when sex is mistaken for love, the love is not going to last.

Example:

My brother and his partner were together for decades. In the end, before each of them died a few years apart, they hated one another.

My brother confided that, as the sexual aspects of their relationship faded, so did their desire to be with one another, which is when they began bringing in others to participate, i.e., swingers, as it were.

Why other partners: “We did it,” he said, “to keep the sparks flying,” he said.

After many years and multiple partners, age began to overtake them. His partner turned to gambling, losing tens of thousands of their savings. Arguing, losing common ground, toward the end they could no longer agree on even the simplest matters.

Purely physical love has no real shape. Marriages, hetero or otherwise, fail nearly fifty percent of the time.

One evening some time ago, I asked one of my homosexual workmates why he was gay. He told me this:

“When I was eleven or twelve years old, my mom and dad were watching something on TV, and I overheard something about sucking cock, and I thought, why not? So, one night, I talked a friend of mine into letting me try it, and I’ve done it ever since.”

The fact of the matter is that humanity is obsessed with sex. All we need to convince us of this is the advertisement for the lawnmower pushed by the sexy girl wearing tight shorts and a sports bra; sex is used to sell everything. Sex is everywhere, in every movie, the motivation for nearly every song we hear. Sex is somewhere close by at all times.

Hookups, pickups, flirtations, orgies, cuddle-puddles, sex therapy, sex-ed, sex everything!

What surprises me is the billions of sexually obsessed “Christians” who claim to be gay, or are divorced, non-monogamous, or have murdered their unborn children for the sake of sexual relationships, and yet ignore the Biblical condemnation of their actions. I’m especially impressed by the many porn stars with crosses hanging from their neck as they act out their fantasies.

In the Bible you will find, if you care to do so:

~5–7 specific passages condemning same-sex behavior
~40–50 direct mentions of adultery
100+ treatments of sexual immorality (outside marriage) from a broad perspective

No, I’m certainly no ultra-righteous left-winger. I’m just as bad as everyone else. I learned more about sex by the time I was six years old than most high school seniors ever hoped to experience. Sad, but true. Molested, queered, seduced; call it what you like.

Sad to say, now in my seventies, the obsession remains around my neck like a giant cross on a porn star. A constant reminder of the decadent behavior I learned in my youth, and continue to battle to this day.

As the Apostle Paul stated at 1 Corinthians 9:7,

No, I must pummel my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize. ( 1 Corinthians 9:7, NWT)

Humanity will never overcome itself. We cannot be led when there is no leader capable of leading themselves. We are victims of our own desires.

All comments are appreciated, thank you!

Welcome to The Invisible Sign. This blog page is for those who see the world around them without delusion. Those who recognize that humanity cannot cure itself, and that religion and politics continue to compound the issues that plague us. Whereas people claim to put faith in God, they turn to men, to religions for answers, and not their Creator. It has become obvious that religion has done nothing for humanity but confound and confuse, incite hatreds, and set all humanity at odds with one another.
